Gary J. Wilt - NRC Webmaster

Gary Wilt is the current webmaster for the NRC website. He has been designing websites for the past 14 years. He is also an EE, (Electrical Engineer) by trade, and has worked in a small R&D lab for the past 26 years in Englewood, NJ. His specialties are in the designing of analog filtering, wideband operational amplifiers, analog to digital converters, as well as the programming of microcontroller firmware for general purpose test equipment and telecom instrumentation.

Gary has been DX'ing the MW band off and on for nearly 38 years. His interest in the hobby began early, and credits his Grandfather for getting him started. After hearing the many stories from his Grandfather about being able to hear far away stations at night on the AM band, Gary took an immediate interest. Gary still has the radio that got his Grandfather started in the hobby; a single tube 6v Westinghouse that his Grandfather used when growing up in the Bronx, NY. Living in what Gary defines as "RF Hell", in the densely populated part of northern NJ, he enjoys the challenges of hearing DX on the MW band. He has logged many TA and domestic stations over the years..

Gary is also a licensed Amateur Radio Operator, W2GJW, and is active on the 6m band. Gary runs a 6m net every Wednesday night on 50.135 Mhz USB. More recently he introduced Echolink to the net, a first for a sideband net. Gary can usually be found monitoring 50.125. He is also interested in many other aspects of radio communications, and monitors the local public service bands, the short-wave bands and still does some TV-DX'ing.

Gary's first and true love however, is monitoring the weather. He has been keeping daily weather records for the past 14 years. He maintains a personal weather website,  North Jersey Weather and is also a storm spotter for the National Weather Service.
